Anti-plagiarism Policy
The journal "Precarpathian Bulletin of Shevchenko Scientific Society. Number" strictly adheres to the principles of academic integrity and regards plagiarism as a serious breach of the ethical standards of scientific communication. Plagiarism is defined as any unauthorised use of another person’s ideas, findings or texts without proper citation of the source. This may involve both verbatim copying and covert paraphrasing, as well as the use of others’ illustrations, tables or graphs. Self-plagiarism, where an author resubmits previously published material as new, constitutes a separate violation.
All manuscripts submitted to the editorial office are checked for textual similarity using specialised software if there is any suspicion, and are also analysed by the editorial board for correct citation and adherence to academic standards. Since most text similarity checking software struggles to handle mathematical texts—both terms and formulas—the journal’s editorial board does not set a minimum originality threshold, as this has no meaningful significance in mathematics.
In cases where plagiarism is detected during the peer review stage, the manuscript is rejected and the author is sent a notification explaining the reasons. If plagiarism is established after publication, the editorial board has the right to retract the article, publish a retraction notice and inform the databases in which the journal is indexed.
