APPLICATIONS PREOPERATIVE CHEMORADIOTHERAPY IN THE TREATMENT OF PATIENTS WITH RESECTABLE COLON CANCER

According cooperative study examined and treated 90 patients with resectable colon cancer. A method of treatment of stages I-III colon cancer, which includes use of the preoperative stage chemoradiotherapy. Using proven method of complex treatment of resectable colon cancer in the case of spread of tumor T3-4N0M0 increases 5-year survival rate to 13.33%, and also prevents local recurrence of the tumor.
Tested combination application of 5-fluorouracil and intense concentration of gamma-irradiation neoadjuvant mode direct effect, providing 4 and 5 degrees pathomorphosis treatment in 46% and grade 3 in 25.58% of cases. The use of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy may be recommended for inclusion to the standard treatment of patients with colon cancer.
