MICROCONVERTERS – BASE OF INFORMATION AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS

This article describes devices that perform processing of analog signals in digital form – microconverters. In such devices, input analog signal firstly comes to analog-to-digital converter and then transferred in digital form to microcontroller, microcontroller performs processing according to program and transfers data to digital-to-analog converter that reproduces processed analog signal. Thereby, after signal went through device it becomes processed.
High-speed devices, development of software and hardware solutions for constructing microconverters in modern information and telecommunications systems were described.
There performed overview and analysis of microcontrollers and their architecture, peripherals, characteristics. These parameters were analysed in terms of use for signal processing.
We provided implementation solutions of analog-to-digital conversion using embedded peripherals of microcontroller and external modules of analog-to-digital conversion. Also, successive approximation conversion was described.
We provided implementation of digital-to-analog conversion using pulse-width modulation and second-order Butterworth filter.
Analysis of signal processing operations in digital form using microcontroller was performed.
